We see millions of advertisements everyday. Why should we pay attention to your ad? Why are you posting the exact same message when advertising? It takes 33+ impressions for people to even start remembering (in a muddled way) your business / your name. Tell me something that truly sets you and your company APART from rest of the businesses in your field.... I better not see best Customer Service etc Being a facilitator let's jump into this topic and not listed in any particular order. 1) I want each of you to have 10 core messages with focus on others.... NOT SALES but to continue setting yourself apart. You can do simple one liners it does not take much. [ Feel free to post a few of your 1 liners below and I will let you know if good or not! ] 2) Remember, figure your true niche` of clients.... truly get to know them and be comfortable with them. 3) Next, How do you reach them and why? 4) Then where? This will end up your new haunt or place to hang out.... if you are not in front of your niche` you are wasting everyone's time by working with people who do not have same temperament or lifestyle you want. 5) How much do they make and what career are they in? 6) What counties or countries? #biztip Start where you are strongest first and look at your past clients... Why did they do business with you? If you do not know the answer go back and ask them directly. 7) Ask yourself this, Should you be the marketing person for your company? In most cases I have found my clients should NOT be the marketing person for their company and they should be out closing contracts and creating new deals. Yes, you as the owner/manager are ALWAYS selling even while at the grocery store etc. But I have found so many owners & managers are to involved both emotionally or financially to market efficiently. This is a exercise in making your message different and to evoke EMOTIONS #training tip.... Warmly, Tonie L. EVERY Group needs $$$, Sports groups, Kids groups, Theater Groups, Animal shelters, etc. Are there are resources that people are available of that list non-profits and their contact info? Our product provides a unique fund raising opportunity for groups (and also individuals), and our challange now is to try to create that list, starting with The Colony area, and possibly neighboring towns. THANKS, Bob and Sharon Umphred. http://longhornmarketinggroup.weebly.com/Unlike · Reply · 1 · May 10 at 10:52am · Edited Bob, Thank you for your great question regarding fundraising! Per normal of myself is to say stay focused and do what you love to do both in life, volunteering, and business. The IRS use to do a publication 78 but now a days you can Download a complete of all the states or even just one into excel. Exempt Organizations Business Master File Extract (EO BMF). I would then Download and sort to the state you are interested in! If you ever have a question if someone has filed for 501c3 use this link. http://www.irs.gov/Charities-&-Non-Profits/Exempt-Organizations-Select-Check Another source would be: http://www.melissadata.com/lookups/np.asp Another option but not as good is: http://www.guidestar.org/NonprofitDirectory.aspx Then you can take that list and wipe it against the Texas search http://window.state.tx.us/taxinfo/exempt/exempt_search.html Warmly, Tonie L Boaman -- Can't wait till the next questions ~ The #UniversalResourceQueen 1 ~ Plan it out How often do you get overwhelmed on a daily or weekly basis? For me it is around once a week there is that super tough day of pulling everyone's schedule together. So what are a few things to that we can do to handle this? What I love to do is get a big calendar and work the month backwards. Why backwards? It helps by making you think in a more concentrated way. I tell businesses that I consult with to always read their contracts from the last page to the front and back again for this very reason. Another thing I do is on my calendar to set aside time everyday for self training, phone calls, appointments, etc. I have found as an entrepreneur from 2 pm to 5pm seems to work best for most of my clients or very early in the morning (3 to 5 am). 2~ Break it down The next thing I love to do is break it down into very very small steps. If it is a 8 week project say in this example, website design—what do you have to break it into? Domain: Name Purchase from who Phone number Do you need a 2nd line for the new business vs your current cell phone? If so, App on cell phone or VOIP or hard line install at home or office? Logo & Photos Design new fresh logo and who? Photos—Hire someone or buy royalty free off websites or take them yourself? Written Content Hire website devolpur to create the content? Write it yourself and hire someone to edit all the pages for vocabulary errors or better written section? Color Are you directing your website to a particular niche? How many colors should a website have or NOT have? Male or Female Attitude of the site: Should it be super simple to show off your gallery more? White background with easy to read font with hardly any true design work…. Should it have an EDGE to the design to help stand out? (think techie or gamers style) Should it be Soft and Feminine if part of your niche is angled toward females? (pink/purples/greens/Swirls and vines and flowers) Should it be more Male? (black, reds, blues) Who is going to manage the website: Are you getting it built for you to manage if techie? Do you have the time to manage it yourself? Is it worth the cost to have another manage it? You just send content and directions to your manager. Search engine optimization: I ALWAYS suggest to have a true professional do your SEO. Be sure to look the professional you are hiring on http://www.alexa.com. Why? If they are so good at what they do their business should have a good ranking would you not agree? Shopping cart: Do you need one for your business? Make sure to find out who will have the most uptime. What attributes does your shopping carts need? Which ones work with your website hosting company? Who has all the attributes you figured out you need at best pricing? Number of Pages: Do you want all the pages on the top or side menu? Do you want sub menus? How many hidden pages? (so you have thank you responses and redirects) Blog or Forums? Not everyone has time to manage this and if you can’t manage it or hire someone else too do not start it. Marketing of site: Banners PCC Free website listings Niche groups Newsletter Email Forms: ALWAYS create custom email submission forms with zip code and names Which company are you going to use? Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Aweber etc Can they be created to match your site temperament? Policies & Procedures: Does your business have #federal or #state regulations you have to adhere to? Return Policy? Privacy Policy? What are your business procedures from time of first contact? Trademarking via Government: What form licensing is needed? Service Mark, Copyright, Trademarks learn the difference! There is still more that needs to be added to this list for proper website list but you can see how fast once you know what it takes as a sample to get overwhelmed fast. By breaking it down even more you can put this on the calendar working it backwards. 3~ Organize your support or people you need to delegate to As you see from the above example there is quite a list of people you can put on different dates of the calendar so you do not have to feel overwhelmed on a daily basis. I even add “emotional support” touchback onto the calendar. I will give you another tip I speak about #Time management — Get an electronic Timer with 1, 5, 10 all the way up to 60 minutes and work on each bit of your to-do on calendar for 30 minutes per day. You can use affirmations everyday but until you take these steps you will not start moving forward in your business which leads us to number 4 below. 4~ Take Action! When the above is done most people already feel DRAINED! This is when you need to push the most… if you do not have the contacts for whatever the project is I am sure you have a #connector type of person in your life ask them or even ask on LinkedIN for referrals or a local business group. From there make sure you truly have a SET IN STONE ending date to get said project done. NEVER move it unless you are in the emergency room. Why? If you cannot commit to yourself, how can you commit to other people? Get someone to hold you accountable! How often have you ever heard of a business coach who does not have a coach themselves? (if they don’t do not use them) Even after breaking down the project as we did above folks still have the feeling of not knowing where to start …. That is ok and great thing to admit. You are human and have to own that feeling instead of letting it overwhelm you. Take the first step today by taking me up on the FREE 20 minute consult on the top right hand side you can text me directly! Warmly, Tonie L Boaman #UniversalResourceQueen |
